After reading the outline for the acts and their scenes, I was thinking how much more creative freedom there would be to take each seperate idea and use it as part of the conversation/actions between the two characters. For example, each character could act out both the unbalanced and balanced aspects of narcissism, and each topic would organically be raised through the dialogue, action, video, etc. The silk dance artist could be interacting at times with the two puppets (or other characters, this is all loose in my mind) in ways that are described as how to sucessfully treat and/or interact/have a relationship with a narcissistic person. Example: I read something about how touching a narcisit on one part of their face (nose I think) would change thier behaviour or at least their thinking, calling thier attention to it. Then another book I've been checking out said something about different lines of questioning that can be used to redirect the narcissist's attention to their skewed version of what's happening. Maybe the silk dancer could interact with the main characters in this way.

I (willow) did some matching of the topics of the scenes in a way that seemed like potential conversation threads that could potentially flow easily. This is just an idea, my first reaction to the scenes was that it could be easy for them to read/feel too scientific or like a list. I know its very early in the development, this is just one idea of something that has potential for more story freedom, if people are interested in creating something like that.

This is reposted from willow's discussion because I thought it was pertinent. My follow up reply was...
Coming back to this I realize how much I want to play with the front and rear projects as well as masks to show how people build facades of self. I am glad I pulled you, willow, into this project because sometimes I think you know more of what I am trying to talk about than I do.

First I love the idea. Second: My research is leading me to think of deleting the whole fabric intro scene because: Finding a fabric artist might be hard and I don't think they could sustain the duration. And that will limit our performance venues greatly. I am also wondering if we are describing different things. I am talking about people who dance in silk hanging from the ceiling. I have a couple leads but I guess fabric is harder than robe and robe is where you start so Jack probably won't be able to learn fast enough but who knows because Jack is Fly! Willow do you want to perform? And how much? Do you find this valuable?

Sure, I love to perform. I guess I don't know about silk dancing from the ceiling...is it like in the circus when people do aerial work on long long cloths? Is robe like in belly dancing when you flutter the fabric around yourself, swirling, etc? What's Jack learning about? I think the fabric in the beginning could be the projection screen, which would be more poetic and mysterious than a flat screen, which could appear later when the puppets come on, or as a transition early on.

Yes, like in the circus. Yes, Jack has been studying fabric/tissue/silk/rope/trapeze and wants to do that scene because Jack is fly enough as you can tell by hir picture. Rope is like fabric but just one rope hanging from the ceiling. Yes, The main idea of the scene is to project on the dancer and the cloth who are all in white. I would like to keep a screen behind the performer so we can have the puppets set-up but we could hang a fabric in front of it. Do you find this valuable?
