Step 1: Write down all the things you don't like about yourself. (Note: this has nothing to do with what other people have told you.) # them according to how much they bug you.

Step 2: For each reason come up with a way you can change it

Step 3: Start at the top and put stars next to the 3 you are most likely yo be able to change

Step 4: The Fun begins! Alll you have to do is be the change you want to see in yourself!

Step 5: Repeat stage three and on until you have completed your list.

First off I don't like this assignment. I think it is depressing to think of all of the resons why I do not like myself.
However, I think that good work might exist inside of it, so I will give it a whirl.

*1. I wait for other people to motivate me.
-I will breakdown projects into smaller chunks.
-I will take the first step. then the next. so on.
*2. I get stuck looking for approval from others
-I will work to affirm myself, and compare me to me, to look for improvements and self affirmation.
-I may even do something cheesy like say: "Wow! good job Jack!!"
*3. I dwell on the awkward things I have done.
-I will work to catch my inner dialogue and re-write it before it smears all over others.
-When I am feeling needy and desperate I will do something I like that will make me actually feel better, such as excersize, make something pretty, dance a little, nap, finish a project, take a bath.
4. I am too quick to judge to work put out by others
-I will mentally explore how it might have been to make that work, and think about how I would do it differently instead of how it is "wrong." I hope that by changing this attitude I can re-route the paralyzing fear I have about creating somehting.
5. I don't do things because of fear
-I will apply all of the above and hope it helps.
-And, perhaps, some relaxing and creative visualization (like they do for people with phobias.)
Do you find this valuable?
