Capitalism
We have been having some great discussions about how Capitalism, oppression and narcissism all depend on each other. I would like to see some rants here. NOW! okay? :)
ok, I only have 15 minutes to rant before I finally drag myself away from the computer for the day. I think we all can agree on some basic points, like how the American use of resources is narcisstic, since we use more than any other country per person. Fuck you all cause I got mine and all that. Then there is the narcissim of farming out all the "undesireable" jobs like making sneakers and hoodies and haute coutre to other countries where they don't have a choice about it (well, the choices probably being along the lines of a farmer who is half-0starved always or a prostitute). The idea of the survival of the fittest works in the natural world, but as far as defining what the fittest is...capitalism takes that and makes it into who can fuck over the most people to make the most money. Being so focused on getting a bigger company to buy out the competition, focusing only on what makes the most profit, wearing the mask of "everything is just fine" when the workers complain that their babies are born with deformities or dead. I think these sorts of ideas would fit well in the video layers...
In Ishmal the gorilla talks about the leavers and the takers and how the leavers live in harmony with, let's just use the word, Gaia and the takers seek to control and dominant Gaia. Also in some of the greek myth research the professor was talking about how one of the purposes of the myths, the stories the culture tells itself, was to tell humans not to act like they were gods or else the gods would punish them. The takers are acting like they are gods like the are entitled to more than the normal animal we call human. What effect is this having on the rest of the global ecosystem? What effect is it having on us. When you look at it the ramifications are not too dissimliar than that of the DNP whose chaos distroys everything around them.
